1. Introduction
This page lays out the rules that apply when you rent a car from AANNA-VANDI, an independently run car rental service based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The moment you place a booking or use any part of our service, you are agreeing to everything written here.
We may revise these terms from time to time. Whenever we do, the updated version goes live on this page. If you continue using our services after a revision, that counts as your acceptance of the new wording.
2. Who Can Rent
If you want to drive yourself:
- You need to be at least 21 years old.
- Carry a valid Indian driving licence that covers the LMV category, and you should have held it for at least one year.
- Bring your original Aadhar card or passport so we can verify your identity in person.
- Visitors from other countries must carry a valid International Driving Permit (IDP) together with their passport.
If you are booking with a chauffeur:
- Any government-issued photo ID will do — Aadhar, passport, voter ID, or PAN card.
- You do not need a driving licence because our driver takes care of everything on the road.
- The advance amount mentioned in your booking confirmation must be paid before pickup.
3. How Bookings Work
You can reach us by phone (+91 9880909889), WhatsApp, email (rent@aannavandi.shop), or the enquiry form on our website. A booking only becomes confirmed once both of these happen:
- We send you a written confirmation on WhatsApp or email.
- We receive the advance payment, if one is required for your booking.
Sending an enquiry does not lock in a car for you. We will check availability first, share a final quote, and only then ask you to pay.
4. Pricing and How to Pay
Every price on our website is a starting rate. The actual amount can vary depending on which car is free, the time of year, and how many days you need it. We will always tell you the final number before asking you to commit.
We accept: UPI apps (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm), bank transfers via NEFT or IMPS, credit and debit cards, and cash at our office. You will receive a digital receipt for every transaction.
GST and any other government-mandated taxes will be added to your bill at the rates in force at the time of your rental.
5. What Comes with Your Rental
- Full comprehensive insurance on the vehicle
- Access to our 24/7 roadside assistance helpline
- A 200 km daily driving allowance on self-drive bookings
- Thorough cleaning and sanitisation before every handover
- Routine servicing and mechanical upkeep
- A spare wheel and an emergency toolkit in the boot
- Driver batta covered on chauffeur packages
- Home delivery within Chennai for select models (subject to availability)
6. Costs That Sit Outside the Rental
These items are not part of the rental fee and will be billed separately:
- Petrol or diesel — you fill the tank yourself on self-drive bookings
- Toll booth fees and parking charges along the way
- Permits required for crossing state borders on outstation trips
- Kilometres driven beyond your daily 200 km cap
- Hours used past the chauffeur package window
- A late-night surcharge between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM on chauffeur services
- Any traffic challans picked up while the car is in your possession
- Repair costs for damage that goes beyond everyday wear
7. Security Deposit
Every self-drive rental requires a refundable security deposit. The amount depends on which category of car you choose:
- Economy or Sedan: ₹5,000 to ₹7,000
- SUV or MUV: ₹7,000 to ₹15,000
- Luxury: ₹15,000 to ₹25,000
Once you return the car and we are satisfied with its condition, the deposit comes back to you within 3 to 7 working days. If there is a fuel shortfall, damage, or outstanding fine, we will deduct the relevant amount before refunding the rest.
8. Condition Check and Inspection
Before you drive away, we walk around the car with you and document the exterior, interior, fuel gauge reading, and odometer. Both you and our representative sign this condition report. Any existing scratches or dents get noted right there so nobody argues about them later.
When you bring the car back, we expect it to be in roughly the same shape — normal wear from driving is perfectly fine.
9. What We Expect from You
- Drive responsibly and follow every traffic rule that applies.
- Do not hand the keys to anyone who is not listed on the rental agreement.
- The car must not be used for anything illegal, for racing, or taken off paved roads.
- Smoking inside the vehicle is not allowed — if we find evidence of it, a ₹2,000 cleaning charge applies.
- Bring the car back on the date, at the time, and to the location we agreed on.
- If there is an accident, damage, or any mechanical trouble, call our helpline straight away.
- Any traffic fines that come in while the car is with you are your responsibility.
10. What We Promise You
- Every car we hand over will be properly serviced, insured, and safe to drive.
- Every chauffeur on our roster has been background-checked and holds a valid commercial licence.
- Our roadside assistance line is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- Refunds and deposit returns will be processed within the timelines stated on this page.
- We will spell out every charge before you confirm your booking — no surprises after the fact.
11. If There Is an Accident
Every car in our fleet carries comprehensive insurance. If something happens on the road:
- Call our helpline the moment it is safe to do so.
- Leave the car where it is unless moving it is necessary for safety reasons.
- File a police report if the situation calls for one.
- The insurance covers third-party claims and vehicle damage, but policy terms and deductibles apply.
- You may need to cover the deductible amount and any damage that falls outside the insurance policy.
12. Rules for Outstation Trips
When you take a car outside Chennai, a few extra rules kick in:
- Some routes carry a minimum kilometre charge depending on the destination and the car you pick.
- Tolls, parking, and interstate permits are on you.
- If you are travelling with a chauffeur, you are responsible for the driver's food and accommodation — or you can pay a flat daily allowance of ₹300 instead.
- The car needs to come back to the same location you picked it up from, unless you have arranged and paid for a one-way drop.
13. Cancellations and Refunds
The full breakdown of cancellation windows, refund percentages, and how the process works is on our Cancellation & Refund Policy page.
14. Limits on Our Liability
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses that stem from using our service. The most we can ever owe you is the rental amount you paid for that particular booking.
If something outside our control — a natural disaster, a strike, a government order, or unexpected road conditions — causes a delay or disruption, we cannot be held responsible for the knock-on effects.
15. Applicable Law and Where Disputes Are Heard
Indian law governs everything on this page. If a dispute comes up that we cannot settle between ourselves, it will be heard exclusively in the courts of Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
That said, we would much rather sort things out directly. If something is bothering you, reach out to us first and we will do our best to make it right.
